Leonard Schiller (Langella) is a 70-year-old once famous novelist whose been all but forgotten. For ten years, he's been writing his fifth novel, but it's never gotten done. A young graduate student named Heather Wolfe (Ambrose) wants to change all that, and get her own thesis done in the process.
