I've always loved Baumbach's work since I saw "The Squid and the Whale" -- only afterwards did I figure out that we both attended the same tiny liberal arts college. Since then, I've followed his contributions to the New Yorker and painfully identified with the lost, hilarious characters in his first film, "Kicking and Screaming", about struggling, recent college grads. He is a master at creating dysfunctional relationships between his characters that are both heartbreaking and ballsy. This movie is no exception!
