INDIEWIRE writes that “2009 has been seen by many as landmark film for female-directed, written or produced cinema”, listing Lone Scherfig’s AN EDUCATION and Claire Denis’ WHITE MATERIAL among the successes (more).

The LATimes gathered predictions for this year’s Best Picture winner at the Oscars from “Oracle” film critics like Peter Travers and Steve Pond (more). All of them predict nominations for AVATAR, THE HURT LOCKER, and PRECIOUS.
