Comments
While Reese Witherspoon's stellar performance received the most praise from critics (and the golden globes), the unsung hero of this movie is Chris Klein, who plays the "jock", Paul Metzler, in this film. He is amaaazing at being exactly like the kind, generous, and extremely popular star athletes I encountered in high school. Fortunately, unlike most teen movies, this film recognizes the complexity of high school students (not all jocks were cruel, not all nerds were good-hearted, not all loners were incapable of winning student government elections by a landslide). Brilliantly funny movie. loved it.
