With a unique point-of-view derived from performance art, Miranda July has written, directed and starred in one of the most unusual films in recent memory. Christine, a struggling artist, makes her living chauffeuring the elderly, spending her spare time shopping. Richard is a newly-single shoe salesman with a certain something that attracts her. He has his hands full keeping his two children out of trouble, including his youngest, who is corresponding online with an art curator about racy subjects. The plot doesn't begin to describe the charms of this film, full of both magical thinking and ironic distance, with adults angling for childhood innocence, and children who want to be adults.
