Based on the popular Korean manga "Like the Moon Escaping from the Clouds," this film takes place in 1591, when Japanese forces have invaded Korea, whose King Seonjo is unable to protect his people. A charismatic politician takes advantage of the power vacuum to found a political party that can strike back against the invading Japanese army. A blind swordsman who was once close friends with the rising tyrant sets out to prevent the country from falling into the wrong hands.
